Lawlessness prevailing in Jharkhand says Marandi, flays government for increase in crime against women

Lawlessness prevailing in Jharkhand says Marandi, flays government for increase in crime against women

Ranchi, Oct 9 (UNI) Leader of legislature of BJP Babulal Marandi on Friday attacked the state government over increasing crime against women and claimed that lawlessness was prevailing in Jharkhand.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here, he said incidents of theft, dacoity, murder, maoists and rape has rapidly increased in the state but the government was in deep sleep. He said that the coalition government is busy in corruption and transfer-posting due to which criminals and crime have gone out of hands.

Over the comments of the High Court in an incident related to Giridih, he said BJP had demanded a probe in the incident which was set aside by the state government but the comments of the High Court has raised questions over the government which was trying to save the culprits. He demanded that the DSP and police Station officer in charge be suspended. Further he said that a SIT should be formed to probe the case and the family should be provided security and government job.

A minor girl was raped and was later set on fire on March 30 in Raj Dhanwar of Giridih district. The police neither arrested the culprits nor sent the swab on time for investigation.

State BJP president Deepak Prakash said that from January to July, 161 incidents of dowry death, 16 witchcraft murders, while on an average 5 rapes are taking place in the state therefore the Chief Minister should give answers to the people and the state government should seek public apology.

He said, security of the women in the state was in the hands of the God while JMM and Congress are trying to do cheap politics over the issue of Hatras incident in which the UP government has already ordered for a CBI probe while in Jharkhand the High court has to take cognisance of crime against women.
