Six-day bicycle fest in New Town

KOLKATA: The New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) is going to organize a six-day bicycling festival in New Town from October 15 to October 20.
The festival will have various attractions such as bicycle race for children, treasure hunt on cycles, a cyclothon, an event with Kanyashree and Sabuj Sathi recipients, along with folk songs and zumba. The events will be held on different days at different locations in New Town.
The opening day event with Sabuj Sathi and Kanyashree recipients will have slow cycling race, cycle safety training and a free cycle health check up. There will be also a training session with the traffic police and a cycle-repair clinic.
There will be a bicycle race for children in the age group of 8 to 14 years and also a cyclothon fete where cycle stunts will be performed by experts in front of the Eiffel Treplica beside Eco Park.
Over the paste few months, NKDA has been organising a few cycling events in the township.
