The new information came out on Friday in the case of fraud in TRP (Television Rating Point). In this case, the FIR has been lodged by Nitin Devkar, deputy general manager of Hansa Research Group Pvt Ltd, the company responsible for the TRP in Mumbai. The name of India Today is written in this FIR, not Republic TV. After the copy of the FIR came out, now the Mumbai Police have also given clarification.

Milind Bharambe, Joint Commissioner (Crime), Mumbai Police, said that India Today was named in the FIR of Hansa Research Group. However, one of the two accused arrested on Thursday had named Republic TV and two Marathi channels during interrogation. In the investigation so far, evidence has been found against these three channels. He said that the investigation is currently going on and based on further evidence, the investigation will proceed.

Please tell that on Thursday, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh organized a press conference regarding the TRP case. He claimed during the talks that Republic TV and two Marathi channels were involved in the game of getting fake TRPs. Singh had said that these channels were increasing their TRPs by paying. Mumbai Police has also sent a summons to Pradeep Bhandari, Consulting Editor of Republic TV, for questioning in this matter.

Meanwhile, Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV Arnab Goswami has termed the allegations of Mumbai Police as false. Goswami said that the Mumbai police had made false allegations because we had questioned their investigation in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) report does not mention Republic TV. Goswami said the Mumbai police should apologize or be ready to face him in court.
