Priest, attacked over land dispute, succumbs, accused held

Jaipur, Oct 9 (UNI) A 50-year-old temple priest who suffered burn injuries at Karauli district, after he was attacked by a group of people over a land dispute, succumbed to his wounds at a hospital here, police said on Friday.
The main accused, identified as Kailash Meena, was arrested and efforts are on to nab others , Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachawa said.
The incident happened on Wednesday at Bukna village in Sapotra, Karauli district, when Kailash and other accused allegedly set fire on the hut of priest Babulal Vaishnav as the priest was preventing them from building a plot in the temple land.
Babulal died at SMS Hospital here late Thursday evening from the burn injuries received.
According to police, the priest gave a statement to them before death and they had registered a case under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder). Now, after the death of the victim, the case altered to 302 (punishment for murder), they added.

Workshop held on 'prevention of anemia by AYUSH' and balanced diet

Solan, Oct 9 (UNI) Under the second phase of the 'Prevention of Anemia by AYUSH' campaign by District Ayurveda Department Solan, anemia screening, nutrition and Covid-19 awareness camp organised in Dharampur block block Krishnagad, Surajpur, Ghadasi, Jangeshu and Hoodang of Dharampur block Friday .
District Ayurveda Officer Dr. Rajendra Sharma said 382 patients of anemia tested in the camps held in these gram panchayats. People were advised to take a balanced diet. Health check-ups were conducted in 100 villages of Gram Panchayat Krishnagarh, 86 in Surajpur, Gram Panchayat, 45 in Ghadasi, 42 in Gram Panchayat Jangeshu and 109 in Gram Panchayat Hoodang.
