Piyush Goyal becomes Minister of Consumer Affairs after Ram Vilas Paswan's death

After the demise of Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has now been given additional charge of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. Earlier Ram Vilas Paswan had this ministry but he died on Thursday while undergoing treatment for the disease, after which the post of minister in the ministry was vacated.


Rashtrapati Bhavan has issued a press release informing it. Now Piyush Goyal has an additional charge of the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Commerce-Industry as well as Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution. The Union Cabinet meeting on Friday paid tribute to Ram Vilas Paswan.

Apart from this, national mourning was declared in the country. Half the flag has been tilted in government offices. On Saturday, Ram Vilas Paswan's last session will be held in Patna. In such a situation, Ravi Shankar Prasad will be present in Patna as the representative of the Central Government.

Ram Vilas Paswan is seen as a big leader not only of Bihar but of the country. He has been a minister of several central governments and has a history of his own party in Bihar as well. Ram Vilas Paswan was undergoing treatment in Delhi for a long time.

On Friday, many big leaders including President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and BJP National President JP Nadda also reached 12 Janpath and paid tribute to Ram Vilas Paswan.
