Haryana: One dead, 49 fresh cases in Ambala; 69 discharged

AMBALA: One patient died of Covid-19 in Haryana's Ambala on Thursday, increasing the toll to 103.
“A 68-year-old man of Baldev Nagar, Ambala City died of Covid-19 on the day. He was a patient of diabetes and hypertension and was kept on oxygen support,” said civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh.
Ambala's mortality rate is 1.22%.
Ambala reported 49 fresh positive cases, increasing the case tally to 8,373 with 362 active cases. As many as 25 cases were from Ambala Cantt, 15 from Ambala City, three each from Chourmastpur and Naraingarh, two from Mullana and one from Barara, said Dr Singh.
As many as 69 patients were discharged, taking the recovery count to 7,908 with the recovery rate of 94.45%, he said.
“So far, we have collected 1,00,381 samples for COVID-19 testing in Ambala, of which, 76,011 are RT-PCR samples and 24,370 are antigen testing kit samples. In the district, we have collected 88,990 samples per 10 lakh population,” Dr Singh added.
