30 kg of ganja recovered from TN mangrove

THANJAVUR: The marine police on Thursday recovered 30 kg of ganja that was abandoned inside a mangrove in Sethupavachathiram in Thanjavur.
Based on a tip-off, marine police personnel headed by sub-inspector Subramanian conducted a search inside the mangrove.
During the search, they noticed a gunny bag. They bag contained ganga in packets. A police officer said the value of the contraband was Rs 1.50 lakh.
They handed over the bag to Nagapattinam wing of the Narcotics Control Bureau.
According to an official, the contraband may have been bound for Sri Lanka.
