    Stock market update: Nifty Bank index gains nearly 2%; Bank of Baroda climbs over 3%

    NEW DELHI: Nifty Bank index was trading with gains at 12:57PM (IST) on Thursday.

    Shares of Bank of Baroda (up 3.49 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 2.79 per cent), Federal Bank (up 2.33 per cent), Bandhan Bank (up 1.73 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 1.65 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    While RBL Bank (down 1.41 per cent) and IDFC Bank (down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

    The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.58 per cent up at 23326.75 around 12:57PM.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 145.05 points at 11883.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 521.97 points at 40400.92.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, Wipro, Vedanta , Alok Industries and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Wipro, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd., MindTree, MphasiS and Aarti Drugs hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Raj Rayon Industries Ltd., Innovana Thinklabs Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., S & S Power Switchgear Ltd., Madhya Pradesh Today Media Ltd., Coal India Ltd., Motor & General Finance Ltd., Tirupati Forge Ltd., Shrenik Ltd. and California Software Company Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
