01/6This is how you stay productive without letting your creativity go down the drain
This lockdown has been hard on almost all employees. More than anything, it's been difficult for creative people to keep up with their creativity without feeling unproductive. So how do you really focus on stating productive without killing your creativity? There are ways through which you can hit your deadlines without any negative emotional, mental and physical effects of burnout. We've listed down a few things that can help you.
02/6Redefine productivity
The simplest definition of being productive is "to do". However, productivity also consists of taking breaks, observing, learning and being. The obsession now that people have with constantly being productive results in meaningless tasks. True productivity is what pushes you closer to your bigger goals. Keep this thought at the top of your mind as you go into your next workday. Eliminate as many meaningless tasks as you can and focus on only what's important.
03/6Understand your limits
The obsession with efficiency and productivity will suffocate your creativity. It also holds the power to make you less efficient in the process. Hence, you need to take 10 minutes of break after every 40 minutes. Even just lifting your eyes from the screen for 30 seconds can provide you a long-lasting benefit.
04/6Avoid distractions
When you are focused on your tasks for the day, distractions can delay your deadlines. And so, you need to be firm on your productivity by staying away from your phone, casual conversations with people around and anything else that can get in your way.
05/6Manage your time well
There are so many people who maintain a to-do list for a reason. It's not to look fancy or anything. This list, in fact, keeps you focused on your tasks. If you follow your time schedules all too well, your productivity won't be hindered.
06/6Schedule time to do nothing
In today's time when work can really take a toll not only on your creativity and productivity but also on your mental health, it is very important to set time to do nothing. Take a walk, spend time listening to music, make that call to your friend, cook, stare at the sky. Whatever makes you feel relaxed at the moment, do it and keep your mind off of work for that little while. Eventually, you will realize how greatly this contributes to increased creativity.
