The convocation of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna (HNB) University of Medical Education is being held today. This is the first online convocation of the state after the corona epidemic started. Only Topher students have been called in it.
The rest of the students are watching the ceremony live through the YouTube channel. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has been a part of the event to be held in the Doon Medical College campus, while Governor Baby Rani Maurya is involved in the event through video conferencing.
Degrees will be awarded to 82 students of MD-MS, 176 of MBBS, 63 of MSc Nursing, 319 of B.Sc Nursing, 97 of Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, five of NPCC, and 180 of Paramedical.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. DK Sharma, MS, AIIMS Delhi, and Vice President of National Board of Examination, Dr. Soudan Singh, former Vice-Chancellor of HNB Medical University, Prof. Founder Director of AIIMS Jodhpur. Sanjeev Mishra and Padma Shri Dr. Sunil Pradhan will be awarded honorary degrees.
Controller of Examinations Prof. Vijay Juyal said that this time due to Kovid-19, convocation is not happening on a large scale. 19 topper students as well as four students who have received the MC Pant Award have been invited to the ceremony.
