YSRCP will not join NDA: MLA

Vijayawada, Oct 8 (UNI) A YSRCP legislator on Thursday dismissed the news items published in a section of media that the YSRCP was trying to join the NDA, adding that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to foster the interests of the State.
Addressing a press conference here, MLA Ambati Rambabu said that it was ridiculous on the part of the TDP leaders to claim the Chief Minister had gone to Delhi to get the cases against him quashed and questioned whether it is possible for the Prime Minister to interfere in the judicial process.
"The Chief Minister had met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the welfare of the State and to seek funds. There was no personal agenda behind the visit. Despite the Covid-19, and other pressing issues, the Prime Minister spoke to Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for over 40 minutes as there were several issues that were discussed", Mr Rambabu made it clear.
"The speculative stories on our Party joining the NDA have no sense as we never had any tie-up with any party at any point of time", he clarified.
The MLA said that the speculative stories planted by Opposition Telugu Desam Party in the friendly media need not be answered and there is no need to give a detailed account of the discussions held at Delhi between the two leaders. The salient features of the discussions were already told several times, he said. He alleged that the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu left Hyderabad fearing cases after the cash for vote scam broke out.
