LIP chief Simarjit Bains challenges min Som Parkash for debate on farmers' issue

Phagwara, Oct 8 (UNI) Though the police today succeeded to prevent Lok Insaaf Party activists led by Simranjit Singh Bains and LIP SC Wing President Jarnail Nangal alongwith several farmers to gherao the Phagwara residence of Union Minister of State Som Parkash at Urban Estate Phagwara, but after long arguement between LIP leaders and Cops the protesters staged dharna before barricading of the police and held protest rally.
Addressing the protesters and later talking to media,Both LIP Leaders Bains and Nangal challenged Union Minister to debate on farmers issue in front of the media.
Addressing the gathering, Simarjit Singh Bains said Shiromani Akali Dal has been in power for 25 years Remained in the NDA and represented Punjab as the largest party, but BJP badly ignored SAD and SAD was forced to leave the cabinet post.
Bains and Nangal urged the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to summon emergent assembly session to pass a bill against Agricultural laws brought by BJP led Modi Government.
Giving an example, he said that the MSP of maize is Rs. 1850 / -, but 650 / - per quintal for wiki and farmer's sugarcane in mandis.
The remaining 3-4 year sugar stands towards the mills. If the same goes for wheat and paddy
If it happens with crops then Punjab farmer will be forced to commit suicide. He said the fighters of Lok Insaf Party had protested against the ordinance. Bains announced to continue the stir till withdrawal of the agriculture laws.
