MUMBAI: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) is all set to restart Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express from October 17 with reduced capacity to ensure social distancing.
A railway official said, “IRCTC is making preparations to ensure the trains match the expectations of people in terms of services and safety and health protocols. Every alternate seat will be kept vacant.” A Standard Operating Procedure has been issued to ensure safety of the passengers. All passengers will be provided a Covid-19 protection kit. All passengers will go through thermal screening and hand sanitization before entering the coach.
Meanwhile, Central Railway announced five pairs of trains, including the Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen and Indrayani Express and Mumbai-Nagpur Duronto Express from October 9. Bookings will commence from October 8 at all reservation centres and on the IRCTC website. Only passengers with confirmed tickets will be permitted to board these trains.
