Pienaar leads Cheetahs in Super Rugby Unlocked opener, Steyn starts in midfield

Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie has named his team for their Super Rugby Unlocked opener against the Pumas in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Veteran Springbok scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar will lead the Cheetahs, while Springbok centre Frans Steyn will make his first official appearance for the men from Bloemfontein, having joined from French club Montpellier earlier in the year.

Pienaar and Steyn are the only two Springboks in the match-day squad.

Flank Andisa Ntsila will also make his Cheetahs debut after joining from the Southern Kings, while on the bench Namibian hooker Louis van der Westhuizen could also make his debut.

Saturday's clash at the Free State Stadium is scheduled for 16:30.
