IPL 2020: Bairstow, Warner power SRH to 201/6 against KXIP

Dubai, Oct 8 (UNI) Excellent fifties by Jonny Bairstow (97 off 55) and David Warner (52 off 40) powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a huge total of 201/6 against Kings XI Punjab in the 22nd match of the IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, here on Thursday.

Along with Bairstow and Warner, Kane Williamson (20 off 10) also played a handy cameo in the slog overs to help SRH post a big total in Dubai.

After winning toss and opting to bat first, openers David Warner and Jonny Bairtsow gave SRH a terrific start. The duo scored 58 runs in the powerplay.

Both Bairstow and Warner continued thrashing SRH bowlers even after the powerplay and completed their respective fifties. Bairstow scored his 5th fifty in IPL, while Warner smashed his 46th IPL fifty.

The duo stitched a 160-run stand for the first wicket. It was the fifth 100-plus partnership between them which was broken by Ravi Bishnoi in the 16th over as he removed Warner (50) and then Bairstow (97) in a gap of 2 deliveries.

In the next over, Arshdeep Singh struck to remove Manish Pandey as SRH lost their 3rd wicket in 7 balls for 1 run. Abdul Samad (8) and Priyam Garg also got out quickly as SRH lost their way.

Abhishek Sharma (12) and Williamson hit few boundaries in the death overs and helped Sunrisers Hyderabad finish with 201 for 6 in 20 overs.

Ravi Bishnoi 3/29, Arshdeep Singh 2/33 , Shami 1/40 were the wicket takers for KXIP.
