Telangana: Flight cadet ends life at Hakimpet Air Force Station

HYDERABAD: A 23 year old flight cadet undergoing training at Hakimpet Air Force Station committed suicide in his room on Wednesday night. Police said no suicide note was found from the spot and the reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
On Thursday, Alwal police of Cyberabad commissionerate received a complaint from Saradh Kumar, squadron leader currently posted as a flying pilot at the air force station. The complaint informed police that flight cadet Akash P Dominic, 23, who was a trainee pilot, committed suicide in his room.
According to the details provided by the complainant to police, at about 9pm on Wednesday, Akash P Dominic had dinner at dining hall of the Flight Cadet Mess. Later during the night, another flight cadet, S Eshwar, who stays in Dominic's adjacent room, noticed that the latter's door was closed.
Subsequently on Thursday morning, Akash P Dominic was absent for morning briefing and at 9.5am S Eshwar along with mess boy, Madhu, went to Dominic's room and tried to open the door as he was not responding to their calls. As he did not respond, they forcibly opened the door and found Akash P Dominic hanging from the ceiling fan, Pet Basheerabad ACP AVR Narasimha Rao said.
Based on the complaint, a suspicious death case was registered under section 174 of CrPC. The Air Force station officials informed police that Dominic was a native of Athirampuzha in Kottayam district in Kerala. "There is no suicide note. Though some cadets and staff said that Dominic appeared to be depressed, the exact reason for the suicide is yet ascertained," Alwal SI Bhaskar said.
