While one of the accused, Vikas Kumar Sao, was held earlier, two others — Rohit and Raja — were arrested in raids carried out in Sukhdeonagar on Wednesday. Police added that the gang had three more members and they were carrying out search operations to nab them.
Notably, Jalan was returning home in the evening on February 6 when criminals riding on two bikes fired at him. Jalan was rushed to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences but he succumbed to his injuries.
The then SSP Anish Gupta had formed a special team headed by DSP Ajit Kumar Vimal to investigate the case.
City SP Saurav said: “Three members of the gang have been nabbed. Three persons, including two masterminds, are still absconding.”
Sources said that the shooters were given Rs 3 lakh to execute the crime. Police said the identity of the person who provided money to the criminals and the motive behind the murder would be known only when the masterminds are arrested.
