Telangana records 2,154 new COVID-19 positive cases, eight deaths till Tuesday night

Hyderabad, Oct 7 (UNI) Telangana reported 2,154 fresh Coronavirus positive cases till 2000 hours on Tuesday pushing the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases to 2,04,748 so far.
With eight patients succumbing to the contagious virus in the last 24 hours, the COVID-19 deaths climbed to 1,189 constituting a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent, a state health department bulletin here said on Wednesday.
A total of 2,239 patients had recovered from the disease between Monday and Tuesday taking the cumulative COVID-19 recoveries in the state to 1,77,008 till date with a recovery rate of 86.45 per cent while the National recovery rate was 84.9 per cent.
While 54,277 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, the reports of 1,525 samples of persons were awaited, the bulletin said.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, a total of 33,46,472 COVID-19 sample tests had been carried out in the state so far.
There were 26,551 active cases in the state now.
As usual, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits contributed a maximum number of 303 positive cases followed by Ranga Reddy district (205), Medchal Malkajigiri district (187), Nalgonda district (124), and Khammam district (121).
The remaining positive cases were registered from other districts, the bulletin added.
