Women's wing of Cong intensifies attack on Yogi govt

Lucknow, Oct 7 (UNI) Former MP and Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Rajni Patil along with other senior women leaders of the party on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government and sought his resignation over the recent incidents of crime against women.
She expressed dismay over the kind of treatment meted out to the daughter of Hathras and her family members by the State government.
Addressing a press conference here at UPCC headquarters, Ms Patil said the kind of treatment which was meted to the daughter of Hathras exposes the true colour of BJP and RSS. What further adds to the woes of the kin of the victim is the kind of loose statements being made by the BJP leaders. Their statements are painful. The Congress leader said that there is a spike in crimes against women in Uttar Pradesh as there is no rule of law in the State. "The criminals have full support of the government. There is Ravan Raj in Uttar Pradesh", she alleged. Condemning the misbehavior of UP Police with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi when they were on way to meet the family of Hathras victim, Ms Patil warned that the people of the state would dethrone him one day.
All India Mahila Congress Committee president and former MP Sushmita Dev said that the affidavit which was filed by the UP Government in the Supreme Court on Tuesday was nothing but a bunch of lies and an attempt to save the Yogi Government.
Even before the notice was issued, the UP Government filed the affidavit in the apex court, which is not only surprising but exposes the real character of the BJP government. She said that in Hindu religion, the dead are not cremated at night, but the daughter of Hathras was cremated at 2.30 o’clock in the night. The whole of the country has seen how the body was cremated. She said that the victim in her statement revealed that she was raped.

Bhopal, Oct 7 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan averred on Wednesday that Premier Narendra Modi not only overcame critical challenges over an extended period of time but also amazingly converted them into golden opportunities.
“The globe has been astounded by the manner in which he (as the then Gujarat Chief Minister) tackled the Bhuj earthquake in 2001 and then confronted the COVID-19 pandemic this year. Whatever he has accomplished and is attaining as the country’s patriarch inspires every citizen to contribute towards nation-building. Mr Modi endeavoured to ensure all-round welfare. A proper system was put in place vis-à-vis irrigation, seeds, fertiliser and sale of yield. Round-the-clock power supply and a rural road network became realities,” the senior politician conveyed via social media.
