A constable of the Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP) died after falling from the roof of a three-storey police barrack building, while watching an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on his cellphone on Tuesday, reported India Today.

The incident was reported from Chandili area in Odisha’s Rayagada district. The deceased constable was identified as Yogeshwar Das (27) who was a resident of Nabarangpur.

Reportedly, Das was sitting on the roof of the building and was watching an IPL game on his cellphone. However, he lost his balance due to excitement and fell down. After the incident, Das was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals (RR) was not able to chase 194 runs set by Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday and was bundled out for 136, losing the match by 57 runs. Only Buttler got going with the bat for the Steve Smith-led side as he played a knock of 70 runs. Bumrah emerged as a star with the ball for Mumbai as he returned with the figures of 4-20 in his four overs. The pacer took the wickets of Smith, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, and Shreyas Gopal.

Besides, RR skipper Steve Smith has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Smith has been fined INR 12 lakh as this was Rajasthan Royals' first offence of maintaining a slow over-rate in the ongoing IPL.

"As it was his team's first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Smith was fined Rs 12 lakh," read an official statement.
