Sankhali: The Bicholim police have arrested two persons for the theft of gold ornaments worth Rs 2.30 lakh from a house at Mulgao in Bicholim.
According to the information provided by Bicholim PI Mahesh Gadekar, some unknown persons had on September 25 affected entry into the house of Risha Pednekar at Bagwada-Mulgao and had taken away gold ornaments worth Rs 2.30 lakh.
Acting on the complaint, police went through the CCTV footage of the forest check-post at Assonora and noticed two persons moving suspiciously on a motorcycle in the night time.
On further investigation, it was revealed that the motorcycle belonged to one Ismail Shaikh from Mangor Hill, Vasco. On investigation, he revealed that he along with one Parshuram Olenkar from Vijaypur-Karnataka had committed the theft.
