Patna, Oct 7 (UNI) Formal announcement of entry of VIP into NDA was today made with
the party getting 11 seats to contest for Bihar Assembly Elections and also getting
assurance of one seat of Bihar Legislative Council.
State BJP president Dr Sanjay Jaiswal while making the announcement in presence of
VIP president Mukesh Sahni and other senior leaders of BJP, said that Mr Sahni had been
supporting BJP since 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Bihar and had also supported the party
in 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections.
Mr Sahni was a leader of Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) and BJP had been
giving due importance to this community since long, he noted.
"As per decision taken by central leadership of BJP, 11 seats have been allotted to
VIP and one seat of Bihar Legislative Council would also be given to to VIP in future",
Dr Jaiswal said adding that 11 seats had been given to VIP from quota of 121 seats
of BJP that the party had got during seat sharing with JD(U) in NDA for ongoing Bihar
Assembly Elections.
There were only four parties in NDA and JD(U) had given 7 seats from its quota of
122 to HAM while BJP had given 11 seats to VIP from its quota of 121, he added.
State BJP president said if any party other than partners of NDA used the photograph
of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during campaign in Assembly Elections , BJP would
lodge FIR against the party concerned.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the star campaigner of BJP and as such only
BJP and its allies in NDA would have the the right to use photo of Mr Narendra Modi
during campaign in assembly elections, he clarified.
