23 more COVID cases detected in Panaji

Panaji: Twenty-three COVID-19 cases were detected in the jurisdiction of Panaji urban health centre in the last 24 hours after their throat swab samples were tested on Wednesday, stated city mayor Uday Madkaikar.

Madkaikar said that out of 23 cases only 10 patients have opted for home isolation while 12 patients were admitted in COVID care centre at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium at Bambolim and a lone 60-year-old male patient residing near Shree Mahalaxmi temple admitted in ESI hospital for treatment.

“Out of 23 patients, 17 are males while six patients are females. The senior most amongst them is an 80-year-old man staying near Electricity Department quarters while the youngest is a student and is only eight-years-old residing near PWD building at St Inez,” he added.
