Seenu Ramasamy explains why he described Aishwarya Rajesh as a dusky heroine

The recent film of Vijay Sethupathi and Aishwarya Rajesh which released on an OTT platform has been receiving rave reviews from several Kollywood actors and filmmakers. Among the ones who showered praise on the film was director Seenu Ramasamy. All praise for Aishwarya’s performance in the movie, Seenu said that the dusky heroine holds the whole movie, especially in the latter half. He went on to add that she is one of the best actresses for alternative and mainstream movies in India. Though Aishwarya was pleased with the appreciation from Seenu, a few who follow the filmmaker on social media questioned him about the need to highlight the actress’s complexion. However, Seenu replied to a few of them and clarified that he isn’t a racist and that the intention of the post was to highlight the struggles of Aishwarya and other dusky heroines. Bro iam not racist she is my kid Iam trying to speak her struggle encouraging only don't encounter me. To a query from another follower, he said colour can’t restrict any girl from exhibiting her skills, and that it is talent which is required. Seenu also added that dusky heroines are rare in south film industries, and reiterated that his intention was to encourage Aishwarya.
