On October 17, 2020, the third annual GEDfest: celebrating the life of Gordon Edgar Downie and the music of the Tragically Hip, will take place at the Ironwood Stage & Grill, hosted by CJAY 92’s Jesse Modz. Headlining band Trickle Down will play Tragically Hip hits at 2pm and 8pm performances. A silent auction, 50/50 draw, and cash donations will be collected with all proceeds being donated to Alberta Cancer Foundation. This event will attract the maximum allowable attendees during the current COVID status. Opening acts The School of Rock House Band will perform at the afternoon show, and DC & The Struggle will perform at the evening show. A second GEDfest event at Mikey’s on 12th has been added with headliner Tragically Hip tribute band The Shoulder High Weeds performing at 8pm, and opened by The Logan Douglas Trio. Tickets for both events are available directly through both the Ironwood, and Mikey's on 12th. Both shows will be livestreamed, with a link to donate to the Alberta Cancer Foundation. Please help us honour Gord Downie, who the world lost to glioblastoma, and raise awareness and funds for cancer research. 100% of all proceeds will be donated to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
