PM Modi’s longevity as elected leader is his ability to challenge himself: Nadda

PM Modi’s longevity as elected leader is his ability to challenge himself: Nadda

New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes 20 remarkable years of being at the helm, wishes poured in from all quarters on Wednesday.

BJP president J P Nadda stated that the reason for Mr Modi’s longevity as an elected leader is his ability to challenge himself.

He said Mr Modi has become India's longest-serving head of elected governments among all Prime Ministers.

'Be it as a Chief Minister for Gujarat or as the Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy, Shri Narendra Modi has always been a crusader for people’s welfare,' he tweeted.

'The date of 7 October 2001 is a milestone in India's political history, when Modi ji was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the first time. Since then, each time a bigger win than a previous victory, a bigger support than a previous one, a growing rung of popularity,' he maintained.

Congratulating Prime Minister Modi on the completion of 20 years as a public representative, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that it was a matter of great pride for him to work for the welfare of the nation under his extraordinary leadership and guidance.

Taking to the twitter, he said “Inspired by the thoughts, vision and charismatic personality of PM Modi, every Indian today is working towards re-establishing India as a ‘Vishwa Guru’. It is a matter of great pride for me to work for the welfare of the nation under his extraordinary leadership and guidance”.

The Former party president Mr Shah further said that 'October 7 was a very important day in the history of our country as on this day in 2001, PM Modi was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, and from that day onwards, an unstoppable journey dedicated to the cause of the nation and public service had begun which has helped us in achieving new milestones in the country’s development every day'.

National General Secretary (Org), BJP B L Santhosh tweeted, 'We are proud of you Narendra Modi. You raised the benchmarks of administration , reinforced political value system , energised the fellow countrymen , made the world turn around & listen to India.'

Former BJP president and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wrote Mr Modi today completed 19 years at the peak of public life.

'As the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he gave a new model of development during 2001–14 and now as the Prime Minister for the last six years Modiji has been increasing the reputation of India and Indians all over the world.

'Under the leadership of Modiji, India is now moving on the path of self-sufficiency and the country is getting new identity and strength. His commitment to public welfare is commendable. He has not lost a single election in 19 years.'

Wishing him good luck, he said 'May he be invincible and keep climbing the new ladder of success.'

Describing Prime Minister Modi 's two decades in office sans break, Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said Mr Modi’s 20 years’ journey of good governance as the head of an elected government has been nothing less than 'Crown of Thorns'.

Mr Naqvi pointed out that Mr Modi’s 20 years’ journey of good governance, has replaced 'Parikrama Politics' (Politics of Circumambulation) with the 'Commitment of Performance' from the state to the Centre.

In a blog, Mr Naqvi wrote,' This has naturally perturbed all those who considered 'Circumambulation in Corridors of Power' as their only strength and passport to success for the last several decades.'
