Stock market update: MidCap stocks advance; LIC Housing Finance jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading higher at 02:10PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of AU Small Finance Bank (up 6.23 per cent), LIC Housing Finance (up 4.93 per cent), Godrej Properties (up 4.56 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 3.25 per cent) and Max Financial Serv (up 3.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Steel Authority of India (down 2.71 per cent), Vodafone Idea (down 2.55 per cent), ADANIGREEN (down 2.33 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (down 2.11 per cent) and Jubilant Foodworks (down 1.94 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.46 per cent up at 14855.31 around 02:10PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 98.00 points at 11601.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 374.25 points at 39347.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Trident Ltd and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Thyrocare Technologies Ltd., Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd., Laurus Labs Ltd., Max Financial Services and Asian Paints hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mauria Udyog Ltd., 7NR Retail Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., A & M Febcon Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Libord Finance Ltd. and KJMC Financial Services Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
