Maha: Covid-19 cases continue to dip, 10,244 new cases added

Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) In some positive development for Maharashtra, the number of Covid-19 cases continued to dip for the sixth day on Tuesday, with addition of 10,244 new cases, the state's tally rose to 14,53,653.

On the other hand, the state also saw the recovery of 12,982 patients, taking the cumulative count of recoveries to 11.62 lakh. The recovery rate in the state was at 80 per cent.

While, 263 patients succumbing to the infection, the total fatality count went up to 38,347 in the state.

However, the number of Covid-19 cases continued to remain high in Mumbai, the state's capital.

With 1,812 new patients testing positive for the virus, the megapolis' tally increased to 2.15 lakh.

The recovery rate of Mumbai stood at 83 per cent.

The Covid-19 caseload of wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) went past the 5 lakh-mark to reach 5,02,583.

The region reported 79 deaths on Monday, taking its toll to 16,376.
