UPPCL strike: Discom employees boycott work, control room set up to prevent disruptions

Over 200 employees of the transmission and distribution departments of UPPCL in GB Nagar boycotted work on Monday and participated in a sit-in protest at the discom office in Sector 16 against proposed privatisation of the power sector. They were expressing solidarity with the their counterparts in districts where privatisation bids have already been initiated.
