Please tell that Riya Chakraborty, Shouvik Chakraborty and 18 other accused who were arrested for the purchase of drugs, the period of judicial custody was ending today.

In the previous hearing, the special court had extended the period of judicial custody of Riya Chakraborty till October 6. Apart from this, a decision on the petition filed by Riya Chakraborty for bail can also come from the High Court today.

At the same time, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has strongly opposed the bail pleas of Riya Chakraborty, Shouvik Chakraborty and 18 other accused, saying that their bail application should be rejected.

The NCB said that a strong message needs to be given to the society, especially the youth, that they should avoid the consumption of drugs. If they do, then the same process will be adopted with them. Significantly, on September 8, NCB arrested Riya Chakraborty after several rounds of questioning.
