MTV EMAs 2020: Lady Gaga leads the nominations with SEVEN nods while Justin Bieber and BTS are shortlisted for five awards
- Nominations for the upcoming November 8 awards ceremony was announced on Tuesday
- Gaga, 34, has received seven nods for her Rain On Me duet with Ariana Grande
- Justin Bieber and BTS follow closely behind with five nominations each
- Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles and Katy Perry have also made the shortlist
Lady Gaga is the front runner for the 2020 MTV EMAs awards after the full shortlist was announced on Tuesday.
The singer, 34, is is in the lead with seven nods, including Best Artist, Best Pop, and Best Video for her duet with Ariana Grande, Rain On Me, which also secured a position in the Best Song and Best Collaboration categories.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber, 26, and BTS following behind Gaga with five nominations a piece.

Justin is up for Biggest Fans, Best Artist, Best Collaboration, Best New and Best Pop.

BTS, meanwhile, received nominations in Best Artist, Biggest Fans, Best Pop, Best Group and Best Virtual Live.

Meanwhile Coldplay will go up against the likes of Liam Gallagher and Green Day for the Best Rock award.
Harry Styles will battle it out for Best Pop against stars such as Dua Lipa, Gaga, Katy Perry, Little Mix and Justin.
The nominations include three new categories: Best Latin, Video for Good and Best Virtual Live.
The Best Local Act category returns, with nominations including: Lady Gaga, Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B for Best US Act, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd for Best Canadian Act and Dua Lipa for Best UK & Ireland Act.
Marking the 27th edition of one of the biggest nights in global music, the 2020 MTV EMAs will air globally on MTV on Sunday, November 8,.

Fans can begin to cast their votes, as voting is now open at mtvema.com until November 2 at 11:59pm.
The MTV EMAs comes just a few days after both Gaga and Bieber secured nominations in the E! People's Choice Award.
This year newcomer Megan Thee Stallion and veteran Justin earned the most nods across the music categories with six nominations each, followed close behind with Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande with five.
Several new music awards were added this year like The New Artist of 2020, The Collaboration Song of 2020 and The Soundtrack Song of 2020.
In the film categories, Birds of Prey, Hamilton and Bad Boys for Life each nabbed five nominations, making it a three-way tie for the most nominated movie.
