Human remains found in Queensland national park
Humans remains have been found in a south-east Queensland national park.
Forensic officers were on scene in Durikai State Forest, off the Cunningham Highway west of the Scenic Rim, on Tuesday after a member of the public came across the remains about midday on Monday.
"Forensic officers believe [the human remains] have been there for some time," a police spokesman said.
Investigations are continuing.
The forest is about 30 kilometres west of Warwick.
Sections of the forest are used for gold fossicking.
Vehicles are restricted to formed roads and tracks.
There are no facilities in the forest and camping is not allowed.
