Ranchi, Oct 6 (UNI) The talks between allies in Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and RJD fell flat
for the Bihar Assembly Elections after which the regional outfit of Jharkhand has accused
the RJD of political treachery.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday party general secretary and
spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that JMM does not need any 'throw away gifts'.
JMM had demanded 12 seats from RJD in the Bihar Assembly Elections.
Bhattacharya said that RJD has forgotten 'Political Decorum'.
He said that in the previous Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections RJD was given more
seats than its stature in Jharkhand.
Bhattacharya announced that the party would field its candidates on Jhajha, Chakai,
Katoria, Dhamdah, Manihari, Nathnagar and Pirpainti seats.
He said that doors for any kinds of talks have now being shut.
The fallout is likely to have its impact over the Mahagathbandhan comprising the JMM,
Congress and RJD in the state.
Earlier it was said that RJD would give few seats to the JMM from its own quota. Even
Chief Minister Hemant Soren had met jailed RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav at the Kely
Bunglow over the matter where he had laid claim over 12 seats but RJD since beginning
was not willing to concede 12 seats to JMM.
JMM was eyeing to field its candidates on such seats which were reserved for the ST
candidates and areas which share their borders with Jharkhand. The 12 seats which the
party had initially demanded included Tarapur, Katoria, Manihari, Jhajha, Banka, Thakurganj,
Rupauli, Rampur, Banmankhi, Jamalpur, Pirpainti and Chakai.
Soren even had talks with Tejaswi Yadav over the matter. Despite having won just one seat
as part of Mahagathbandhan lone RJD MLA Satyanand Bhokta was included as cabinet
minister in the Jharkhand government therefore JMM was hoping that RJD would return the
virtue but with the talks falling through a big question mark has now fallen over the future of
RJD in its alliance with JMM and Congress in the state.
