Tottenham make Man City transfer approach for John Stones to solve Jose Mourinho problem
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho still ideally wants more signing before the transfer window closes.
Tottenham have reportedly made a late enquiry to sign John Stones from Manchester City. The 26-year-old has further fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad with City splashing more than £100million on Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake.

After joining City for £47.5m from Everton back in 2016, Stones has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular under Pep Guardiola.
He started just 12 league games last season and is currently the fourth-choice at City following the arrivals of Dias and Ake.
West Ham have been linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old in recent weeks with David Moyes desperate to bring in a new centre-back.
It's also been claimed that City would consider taking a massive hit on the £47.5m they paid to sign Stones four years ago.
The Hammers would reportedly look to sign him on an initial loan deal.
But they now seemingly face strong competition from Tottenham to sign Stones.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs have contacted City regarding a possible loan move for the defender.
The report states Spurs want to bring in Stones on a season-long loan deal with a view to making the move permanent for £20m.

However, Stones is said to be keen to remain at the Etihad until it's made clear to him that he's no longer needed.
He is currently the fourth-choice option with Eric Garcia expected to leave for Barcelona before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.
But Guardiola also has Fernandinho as an option at the back having been deployed as a makeshift centre-back last season.
He's been deployed in his more recognised midfield position in City's last three league games.

However, the 35-year-old played in defence in the Carabao Cup win over Burnley last week alongside Aymeric Laporte.
For Tottenham, they're top defensive target had been Milan Skriniar.
Inter Milan had been demanding close to £45m for the Slovakia international with reports over the weekend suggesting Spurs were going to try one last-ditch attempt to sign him.
Negotiations have stalled though with Daniel Levy now pulling the plug on a move for the 25-year-old.
