
JEE Advanced Result 2020 Live Updates: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi released the result for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2020 today. The result along with cut-off for admissions to IITs and rank lists will be available at jeeadv.ac.in. The final answer key is also available at the website.
JEE Main September topper Chirag Falor has secured all India rank 1 in JEE Advanced. He obtained 352 marks out of 396 marks. Among females, Kanishka Mittal has topped the exam with 315 marks and AIR 17.
A total number of 1,50,838 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 in JEE (Advanced) 2020. A total of 43,204 candidates have qualified JEE (Advanced) 2020. Of the total qualified candidates, 6,707 are females.
The counselling will begin from tomorrow as JoSAA will start its registration process. This year, several changes have been introduced including the scrapping of a cut-off for class 12 marks, one less round for counselling among several others. The number of counselling rounds has been reduced to six instead of seven earlier, to ensure timely admissions and beginning of classes. The result too is being declared in record time. The exam was held on September 27.
Those who wish to study deisgn and architecture related courses will have to apply for AAT exam. The regsirtation process has begun and will conclude by Octover 6, 11:59 pm. JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment result will be organised by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The counselling is conducted as a centralised online admission process for admission into 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 29 other government-funded technical institutes (other-GFTIs). JoSAA registration process will start from October 6.
Mumbai boy, Swayam Chube the only aspirant from Maharashtra to score 100 percentile in JEE Main has now scored rank 8 in JEE Advanced. The family had shifted from Dadar to Marol around two years ago, to cut down Chube’s travel time to his classes.
Haryana’s Harshvardhan Agarwal has got All India Rank 9 in JEE Advanced. He had got AIR 6 in the JEE Main. He wants to study computer science from IIT-Bombay. The 18-year-old had also appeared for JEE in the January session when he got 99.989 percentile score which he said was not enough and appeared in JEE Main April/ September attempt.
Vaibhavraj of Begusarai, Bihar got All India Rank (AIR) 3 JEE Advanced. Son of a senior scientist officer in the Ministry of Defence, Vaibhav Raj has been preparing for JEE Advanced since 2018 fir which he moved to Kota's to prepare. He has also won a gold medal at IJSO. He has been a bright student throughout his scholastic career as he got 98 per cent marks in class 10 and 99 per cent marks in class 12. He is also an NTSE scholar and had got AIR 45 in JEE Main.
Bengaluru resident R. Muhinder, who has been studying in Allen - a Kota-based institute has secured AIR 4 in JEE Advanced. Prior to this, he got 100 NTA scores in JEE Main. Mhuhinder has also secured Silver Medal in ICHO and All India Rank 5 in KVPY. Apart from being an NTSE Scholar, he passed the class 10 exam with 95.6 per cent and class 12 with 97.4 per cent marks. His father D. Raajvi is a businessman and mother R. Kasimaalar is a housewife.
This year, a total of 96 foreign nationals, 25 PIOs, and 238 OCIs had applied for the exam fo which 23, 23, and 209 had appeared respectively. Among these, only four foreign nationals, 16 PIOs, and 133 OCIs have cleared the exam.

Chirag Falor has topped the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced this year. In the JEE Main, Chirag secured 12th rank with 100 percentile marks this year.
Earlier, in an interview with indianexpress.com, Chirag said, "I have been preparing for the IIT entrance exams for four years and, therefore, wanted to appear for it. I can surely say that the IIT entrance is the toughest entrance exam. While the MIT assesses each individual based on their personalities and how much have they leveraged from the opportunities made available to them, the parameters for IIT admissions are entirely different. MIT needs a lengthy application process, including essays, details of one's personality and background, the IIT entrance requires a lengthy preparation to get through."

JEE Advanced Paper 1 & 2 Documents Required, Two passport size photographs, Provisional seat allotment letter, Candidate undertaking, Proof of seat acceptance fee payment by e-challan or net banking of SBI, Valid photo identity proof, JEE Advanced 2020 admit card, 10th standard mark sheet (as proof of age), 12th standard mark sheet or pass certificate, Medical certificate, Category certificate (if applicable), Registration cum locked choices for seat allotment
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be responsible for the counselling session of JEE Advanced qualified candidates. Registration has to be done and the candidates will have to select their choice of colleges and courses. Candidates will be allotted seats into the participating IITs according to their secured ranks, preferences and availability of seats.
To maintain social distancing and COVID-19 precautionary measures, exam centres will run half of their capacity. The NTA has also increased the exam centres to 1,150 and cities to 222 to follow the social distancing protocols. Last year, there were 600 centres.
Due to the current restriction imposed on foreign travel and visa issuance, JEE authority has decided not to conduct JEE advanced 2020 in foreign centres. All candidates staying abroad can opt to take exams in India.
