Chennai:
As many as 5,395 people tested positive for coronavirus in Tamil Nadu over the past 24 hours, the State Health Department on Monday, increasing the COVID infections toll in the state to 6,25,391.
In the last 24 hours, 62 people succumbed to COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu, pushing the death toll in the state to 9,846.
A total of 82,725 samples were tested over the past 24 hours, which now total over 77,82,736.
According to the bulletin released by the health department, as many as 5,572 were recovered and discharged today.
While the state capital, Chennai recorded a total of 1,367 new cases, taking the total infections to 1,74,143 and the other districts reported 4,028 cases.
