CBI sleuths raid KPCC chief's house

CBI sleuths raid KPCC chief's house

Bengaluru, Oct 05 (UNI) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths raided the houses of the KPCC president D K Shivakumar and his brother D K Suresh, Lok Sabha member on Monday morning.

According to official sources, the raid has been conducted in relation to the charges of corruption under the Prevention of Corruption Act, initiated by the Enforcement Directorate.

The sources said that the CBI sleuths, in eight teams, had conducted raids simultaneously on the residences of Congress brothers, located in Posh localities in the city.

The CBI team had also raided the houses of D K Shivakumar, located in his Assembly Constituency Kanakapura and carried out searches into the corruption charges.

The CBI action came after the State Government had granted it permission to investigate charges of corruption against D K Shivakumar, recently.

The Enforcement Directorate had written the Karnataka Government seeking permission to investigate the alleged unaccounted cash of Rs 8.59 crore, which was seized by the Income Tax authorities in August 2017 at an upscale Safdarjung enclave area in New Delhi.
