CBI questions Life Mission CEO, 2 other officials in housing project scam

Kochi, Oct 5 (UNI) Life Mission CEO U V Jose and two other officials were being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday in connection with the scam in housing project at Wadakkanchery.
CBI had registered a case on charges of conspiracy and violation of Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act.
After questioning Jose, CBI will decide if a corruption case needs to be registered.
CBI had issued two notices to Jose as CEO of Life Mission and as an individual.
The Premier Investigating Agency had asked him to submit six important documents regarding Life Mission project.
As CEO of Life Mission, Jose will be interrogated about the alleged commission of over Rs four crore and inaccuracies in the documents.
CBI had directed Jose to submit the agreement copy signed between Red Crescent and Life Mission and has sought documents about the transactions between Sain Ventures and Life Mission.
Life Mission District Coordinator has been directed to submit documents about the transactions with the Municipality and Electricity Board in connection with the project.
Meanwhile, Unitac, which was given the construction contract of the project, has been directed by the CBI to submit documents showing its links with the Life Mission.
