No case of CCHF, don't panic: District Collector

Palghar, Oct 5 (UNI) District collector Manik Gurusal on Monday apprised that not a single case was detected of Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in the district, so not to believe on rumours or to get panic.
The statement of the collector comes in the wake of the reports that cases of CCHF had been detected in Palghar district.
He further said that not even in the border of Palghar and Gujarat these cases had been detected, he said.
He said that as a proactive measure and anticipating that CCHF would penetrate into the district through the border the district administration had taken certain measures including alerting the villagers and the Animal Husbandry department.
A central team visited Palghar last week and conducted a survey of the region and also trained the concerned department officials in the ways and means to face the situation if the CCHF is found in the district.
A team comprised of Dr Kamlesh Upadyaya ( Medical College, Gujarat), Dr Sashikant Kulkarni, (National Center, New Delhi), Dr Yogesh Gurav(Scientist, National Institute, Pune), Dr S L Sharma (NCDC) among others he added.
