The contestants this season are Abhinav Shukla, Eijaz Khan, Rahul Vaidya, Pavitra Punia, Jasmin Bhasin, Nikki Tamboli, Shehzad Deol, Jaan Kumar Sanu, Rubina Dilaik, Nishant Singh Malkani and Sara Gurpal. Bigg Boss 14 also has ‘Toofani Seniors’ — Hina Khan, Sidharth Shukla and Gauahar Khan — who have promised to make the show more challenging for the contestants.
Already the season has delivered on what Bigg Boss is expected to – fights, resentment and a whole lot of drama.
During Bigg Boss 14’s virtual press launch, host Salman Khan revealed his reasons for resuming work with Bigg Boss 14. Expressing concern about the aftermath of the long lockdown that halted all production work in tinseltown, the actor shared that he felt he needed to start working so that others could also earn. “The biggest reason that I am doing Bigg Boss is because I wanted people to start earning again. A lot many people died of COVID and also hunger. Bigg Boss has a big unit and gives employment to a lot of people,” Salman shared.

Bigg Boss 14 will air Monday-Friday at 10.30 pm and Saturday-Sunday at 9 pm on Colors. It will be available before TV exclusively on Voot Select.

In conversation with Nishant Singh Malkani, Sidharth Shukla opens up on his journey on Bigg Boss 13. He said, "Times were different and fast. We were very active and every day something or the other things were happening. We were friends and there were alliances." He added that in the present season, some people are very slow and some are not even bothered. "We knew the game was on, which was fun because you are on your toes," the actor said.

Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Shefali Jariwala praised Sidharth Shukla, who has joined Bigg Boss 14 as one of the 'Toofani Seniors.' In a tweet, she mentioned that the actor is "so entertaining."
In today's episode, we will see the first major fight of the season as Sidharth Shukla, Gauahar Khan and Eijaz Khan will get into a war of words over a weekly task. While Gauahar and Eijaz will accuse Sidharth of sabotaging the task, the Dil Se Dil Tak actor will defend himself saying it's a game and he will play it as it pleases him.
The drama has started to unfold in the house of Bigg Boss 14. In Monday's episode, 'Toofani Seniors' Hina Khan, Gauahar Khan and Sidharth Shukla got to exercise their full power. They were made to give various tasks to the 'Rejected' contestants (Rubina Dilaik, Nishant Singh Malkani, Sara Gurpal and Jaan Kumar Sanu) so that they could prove their worth and enter the house.
All the four rejected contestants put their best foot forward as they did whatever was asked of them. Nishant Singh Malkani agreed to wear a bikini over his T-shirt and get 'Rejected' written on his forehead for an entire week. Sara Gurpal cut her hair short on being asked by the seniors, and Jaan Kumar Sanu got a mohawk haircut. Rubina Dilaik refused to stay in the same clothes for a week but agreed to eat a bowl of green chillies in a minute.
The entire house was impressed with the performance of the four contestants. Bigg Boss gave them the power to decide among themselves that who three should enter the house and who should stay outside the house. They mutually decided that Rubina's performance was not good and hence she would not get to go inside the house.
Next morning, Rubina Dilaik got into an argument with Jasmin Bhasin over what seven essentials should they demand from Hina Khan. Rubina wanted her slippers and shoes, and Jasmin needed her makeup products. Sara Gurpal and Nikki Tamboli also fought over the issue but ultimately made peace with each other.
On the fun side, Sara teased Sidharth by calling him the son-in-law of Punjab, referring to his linkup with Shehnaaz during Bigg Boss 13. Jasmin, Nishant and Rahul joined the conversation. Siddharth also pulled Rubina's leg for being conscious about hygiene.
Bigg Boss will today assign the first task to the housemates. The task titled Entry Pass is for the rejected freshers of the season who will have to win their entry into the Bigg Boss house by performing tasks assigned by the 'Toofani Seniors'.
Until the next announcement by Bigg Boss, housemates are allowed to take only seven things from BB Mall, which comes under 'Toofani Senior' Hina Khan's control. While Rubina wants her pair of slippers, Jasmin argues with her for her make-up.
In a conversation with indianexpress.com, Jasmin Bhasin said she is excited to show her fans how headstrong she is. When asked, "If you are allowed to take one person along, who would you take?", Jasmin replied, "Bharti Singh would be best."
Kamya Punjabi thinks Sidharth Shukla is yet again stealing the spotlight. The actor tweeted, "So unfair for the freshers. Sidharth stealing the show big time."
Gauahar Khan, who is one of the Toofani Seniors, is responsible for the Bigg Boss kitchen. Bigg Boss has given her the power to assign the duties of cooking and washing utensils. She also gets to decide who eats. However, when Gauahar sees Pavitra Punia not abiding by the rules, she confronts the latter and ends up having a verbal spat.
4Rejected contestants will be given a chance to secure their place in the Bigg Boss house, but it comes with a cost. Rubina is asked to wear the same clothes for a week. When the actor tries to refuse, her husband and co-contestant Abhinav Shukla explains that her decision to not abide by the rules of the seniors can lead to her elimination. Similarly, Jaan is asked to get a mohawk haircut while Nishant is asked to wear a bikini for the entire week.
In a conversation with Rubina Dilaik, Abhinav Shukla and Shehzad Deol, Pavitra Punia recalls days when she survived on just grass. Abhinav mentions that he has heard models also eat tissues to keep themselves full.

In a conversation with indianexpress.com, Abhinav Shukla spoke about what can go wrong in Bigg Boss 14 house. He said, "I do have a very strong threshold for anger. I generally treat people the way they treat me. I don’t usually lose it but if someone is trying to be too filthy or get physical, I am not going to take that. At the end of the day, I am a Punjabi!"
