Motorola Razr 5G Price in India, Specifications Launch Live Updates: After a not-so-impressive debut of the original Razr, Motorola is back with the second-generation flip-style foldable phone. The new Razr 5G has a faster Snapdragon 765G processor, slightly redefined design, and a much-improved camera.
The highlight of the Razr 5G is its design and engineering which makes the screen folds in half. Motorola claims the new hinge design can last 200,000 folds and unfolds — the equivalent of 100 folds per day for five years. The new Moto Razr isn’t totally water-resistant, but the company has added a water repellent coating to prevent the phone from the water damage.
The follow-up to the original Razr comes with a 6.2-inch 21:9 pOLED foldable panel. There’s a 2.7-inch OLED screen on the front too, which can be used to access apps as well as notifications. At 12 noon IST on Monday, October 5, Motorola will launch the Razr 5G in India. In case you are interested in the Razr 5G, we will be liveblogging all the launch details and sharing all the news from the event in real-time, just like we always do.
Motorola Razr sports a 6.2-inch pOLED display on the inside of the fold and a 2.7-inch OLED display on the outside. The device runs Google's Android 10 operating system with the company's own My UX on top. All of this is backed by a 2,800mAh battery with support for the company's own 15W TurboPower fast charging.
For security, the device features a capacitive fingerprint sensor on the back and support for face recognition.
The device features a single 48MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture on the outer shell. Inside of the fold, it features a 20MP sensor for taking selfies.
Motorola Razr 5G is priced Rs 1,24,999. The company is only bringing the Polished Graphite colour variant in India.
The device will be sold exclusively on Flipkart and all leading retail stores, with pre-booking starting today itself. It will go on sale starting October 12.
Motorola has partnered with Flipkart, HDFC Bank and Jio for the launch of Motorola Razr 5G in India.
The company will be offering HDFC Bank credit card and debit card owners an instant discount of Rs 10,000 on purchasing the Razr 5G. Apart from this, all HDFC customers will be able to get the device on a no-cost EMI plan for up to 12 months.
Jio customers can get a double data and double validity plan with the Rs 4,999 prepaid recharge plan. Under this, the company will be offering 700GB of high-speed data without any daily capping, plus another year of service with additional 700GB data.
The device will be sold exclusively on Flipkart in India.
Motorola Razr 5G runs Google's Android 10 operating system with the company's own My UX on top. It comes with features like Moto Actions and new specific Razr Actions.
Motorola Razr 5G is backed by a 2,800mAh battery, which is 12 per cent larger compared to the previous generation. The company claims that the device can last for a full day on a single charge. The device comes with support for the company's own 15W TurboPower fast charging technology.
Motorola Razr 5G sports a single 48MP sensor on the outer panel with an f/1.7 aperture. The company states that the camera utilises Quad Pixel technology to offer better low-light sensitivity. It also features optical image stabilisation (OIS) and laser autofocus technology. The primary camera can be used to take normal photos and selfies too, with the help of the outer panel display.
On the inner panel, the device comes integrated with a 20MP sensor for taking selfies.
Motorola Razr 5G sports a 2.7-inch glass OLED display on the outer shell with a resolution of 800x600 pixels. This display allows users to quickly check notifications, reply to messages and more.
On the inside, it features a 6.2-inch foldable pOLED display with a resolution of 2142x876 pixels. The company claims that the device can withstand up to 200,000 flips according to its lab tests.
Motorola has engineered a 0 Gap Hinge, which allows the Razr 5G to fold flat and have no gaps in it. The company claims that you cannot even slide in a paper when the phone is closed, due to the complex hinge mechanism.
The company claims the Razr 5G can endure 100 flips a day or 2,00,000 flips without showing any issues. The hinge is a complex mechanism, as it creates a teardrop shape bubble in the centre when closed and moves the screen a bit while opening and closing to ensure that the screen does not have a crease in it.
Motorola claims that because of Motorola Razr 5G's dual display design the battery life is "optimised even more." It states that the bigger and better quick view display drives a behaviour change making people use it more for tasks and not turning to the larger screen, which eats up more battery, for everything.
Motorola Razr 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. It comes with over 300 5G ENDC combinations, which allows it to support 25 markets including India. It consists of four 5G antennas, which allow users to talk by holding the phone in any position.
Motorola has stated that with its Razr 5G, it is focusing on design. It states that the phone's design features simplicity on the outside, but high precision and complexity on the inside.
The new Razr 5G comes with a new processor, camera, larger battery and inclusion of 5G. It is made out of 3D glass with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 7000-series aluminium.
Motorola will be starting its live launch event of the Razr 5G in India in under five minutes. Stay tuned to this space to get updates.
