4 men posing as security guards hit Durban jewellery store

KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating a robbery after four men posed as security guards, entered a jewellery store and made off with jewellery worth an undisclosed amount.

According to police, the four armed men entered the business premises at The Pavilion Shopping Centre in Westville, Durban, at 12:45 on Sunday.

Two of them were wearing security guard uniforms.

Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said they removed the jewellery from the shelves.

Gwala added that they fired shots in the parking lot but said no injuries were reported.

"A case of business robbery has been opened for investigation."

Store declined to comment.
