Dubai, Oct 5 (UNI) Delhi Capitals leg-spinner Amit Mishra on Monday was ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2020 due to a finger injury.
The leggie sustained a flexor tendon injury to the ring finger of his bowling hand during DC's fixture against KKR on on Saturday.
Mishra was hurt while trying to take a return catch of Nitish Rana when the ball ballooned up off a leading edge during his first over against KKR in Sharjah. He dived across and got his hands underneath the ball but couldn't hold on, and injured himself in the process.
The 37-year-old will now consult with a specialist over the next few days to determine the most appropriate course of management for this injury, Cricbuzz reported.
Mishra, a vital cog in DC's bowling lineup, had played three matches this season and picked up three wickets.
Mishra's ouster means Axar Patel will walk back into the side as the second spinner alongside Ravichandran Ashwin for Monday's game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Dubai.
