Long-closed schools due to the Coronavirus epidemic are going to reopen in a sequential manner from October 15. For this, the Ministry of Education has issued guidelines. The Ministry has asked all the States and Union Territories to prepare their own SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure that they follow the standards of health, sanitation, safety, and social distancing.
Explain that schools and colleges across the country have been closed for the last six months due to the lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. On October 1, the country entered the fifth phase of unlocking, under which the government is relieving the restrictions imposed during the lockdown. In the guidelines issued for this, schools have also been ordered to open from October 15.
Regarding the reopening of the schools, the Union Home Ministry had said that in order to go to school, students have to take the written consent of the parents. Parents will judge whether the student will go to school or not. If the student does not have the permission letter of the guardian on reaching school, he/she will not be given admission. At the same time, online education will also continue and incentives will be given to make it more effective.
While issuing the guidelines for the fifth phase of unlocking, the Ministry of Home Affairs had said that the governments of the states would be able to decide to open school-colleges from October 15 onwards in view of the situation of coronavirus epidemic. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that the ministry has given an exemption to states that they can open schools by talking to parents and institutions, given their circumstances.
