Ravichandran Ashwin gave Aaron Finch a warning for leaving his crease in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Monday in Dubai.
The incident happened in the third over Royal Challengers Bangalore’ (RCB) innings, when Finch walked out of his crease at the non-striker’s end, but the Delhi Capitals (DC) off-spinner didn’t attempt to ‘Mankad’ and allowed Finch to return to his crease.
After the match, Ashwin even took to social media and reacted to the incident: “Let’s make it clear !! First and final warning for 2020. I am making it official and don’t blame me later on. @RickyPonting #runout #nonstriker @AaronFinch5 and I are good buddies btw.,” he wrote on Twitter.

Before season 13 of the IPL, Ricky Ponting, the current head coach of the Delhi Capitals, had spoken to Ashwin on the matter in UAE and asked him not to ‘Mankad’ any non-striker.
The debate around ‘Mankading’ has drawn a lot of reactions ever since Ashwin (while playing for KXIP) dismissed Rajasthan Royal’ Jos Buttler in IPL 2019.
After the meeting, Ponting had claimed that he and Ashwin had come to a common ground regarding the issue.
It seems like Ashwin did pay heed to his advice and Ponting was seen enjoying the lighter side of the entire episode from the dugout.

Here is the video-
Earlier, Marcus Stoinis cracked a blistering 53 while Prithvi Shaw smashed 42 runs to take Delhi Capitals to a competitive 196/4 against RCB.
Stoinis, who was dropped on 30 by Yuzvendra Chahal, made RCB pay for the mistake as he raced to his 53 in just 26 balls, hitting two towering sixes and six fours at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Shaw, however, missed what would have been a well-deserved half-century.
