Chandigarh, Oct 4 (UNI) With the detection of 1,302 fresh COVID-19 cases in Haryana on Sunday, the infection tally in the state surged to 1,33,878.
The death toll also mounted to 1,470 in the state after 20 more patients succumbed to the virus in last 24 hours.
According to the department's bulletin, the virus claimed four lives each in Jind and Panipat, three each in Panchkula and Sirsa, two each in Faridabad and Fatehabad and one life each in Gurugram and Kurukshetra districts today.
The bulletin stated that among the new cases 287 were reported from Gurugram district, 130 from Hisar, 124 from Faridabad, 93 from Rohtak, 72 from Ambala, 59 each from Fatehabad and Sirsa, 58 from Yamunanagar, 54 from Mahendergarh, 50 from Sonipat, 49 from Panipat, 45 from Karnal, 43 from Rewari, 32 from Panchkula, 27 from Kurukshetra, 26 from Jind, 25 from Palwal, 22 from Jhajjar, 21 from Bhiwani, 15 from Kaithal, nine from Charkhi Dadri and two new cases from Nuh district.
Of the 1470 fatalities so far, 225 deaths have been reported from Faridabad district, 178 from Gurugram, 109 from Karnal, 95 from Ambala, 94 from Panchkula, 92 from Kurukshetra, 89 from Panipat, 78 from Yamunanagar, 71 from Hisar, 69 from Sirsa, 65 from Rohtak, 44 from Sonipat, 42 from Fatehabad, 40 from Kaithal, 37 from Jind, 36 from Bhiwani, 30 from Rewari, 25 from Jhajjar, 23 from Nuh, 17 from Palwal, 7 from Mahendergarh while four deaths have been reported from Charkhi Dadri district.
Gurugram is the worst-affected district with 21,746 confirmed cases, followed by Faridabad with 20,397 cases, Sonepat with 8,514, Ambala 8,176, Karnal 7,515, Panipat 7,478, Hisar 6,714, Panchkula 6,221, Rohtak 6,189, Rewari 5,977, Kurukshetra 5,808, Yamunanagar 4,422, Sirsa 3,979, Mahendergarh 3,588, Bhiwani 2,881, Palwal 2,708, Jhajjar 2,621, Kaithal 2,518, Fatehabad 2,438, Jind 2,203, Nuh 1,132 and Charkhi Dadri with 653 cases.
Apart from these there are 21 US-returnee Haryana citizens who have been found COVID-19 positive, the bulletin added.
