With slight dip Telangana reports 1,949 COVID-19 positive cases, 10 fresh fatalities till Saturday night

Hyderabad, Oct 4 (UNI) Telangana recorded 1,949 COVID-19 positive cases, marking a slight dip till 2000 hours on Saturday, and the cumulative caseload in the state rose to 1,99,276 till 2000 hours on Saturday.

The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,163 with ten more patients succumbing to the contagious virus in the past 24 hours constituting a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.6 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Sunday.

A total of 2,366 patients had recovered from Coronavirus taking the cumulative recoveries to 1,70,212 with a recovery rate of 85.41 per cent while the National recovery rate was 84.1 per cent.

During the last 24 hours, 51,623 samples were tested and of which the reports of 569 samples were awaited . Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, 32,05,249 COVID-19 sample tests had been carried out in the state, the bulletin said.

There were currently 27,901 active cases of the deadly virus in the state.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits remained the top contributor of 291 positive cases followed by the neighbouring Ranga Reddy district (156), Medchal Malakjigiri district (150), Nalgonda district (124) and Karimnagar district (114).

The remaining positive cases were reported from other districts, which contributed less than 100 cases each, the bulletin added.
