COVID : Recovery rate in UP reaches 87.35 pc: deaths cross 6000 mark

Lucknow, Oct 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh continues to report declining Covid 19 cases for the past 17 days and the recovery rate has reached 87.35 per cent

The number of fresh cases on Sunday was 3930 while 5226 have recovered and the total number of positive cases in the state has gone up to 4,14,466.

A total of 6029 people lost their lives to the lethal virus with 52 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours.

State Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Amit Mohan Prasad said, on August 5 during the past 17 days the number of active patients have come down by around 22,000.

Today, the number of active patients is 46,385 while the number of recovered patients is 3,62,052, he said.

The official said, on Saturday 1,59,128 sample tests were done and now the total Covid tests in the state has reached another milestone of 1,07,39,769 so far.

Mr Prasad said there are 21,648 positive asymptomatic patients in home isolation.while 3486 patients were admitted to private hospitals. Rest patients are recovering in the government run Covid hospitals.

Over 4.03 lakh surveillance teams have visited 1,30,570 areas of the state and visited 2.60 crore houses to check the health of over 12.90 crore people.
