Ranchi, Oct 4 (UNI) State's Education Minister Jaggarnath Mahto, who is undergoing treatment for coronavirus at a private hospital here, is stated to be serious.
The doctors treating him at Medica Hospital said his oxygen saturation level has not improved.
Medical Director and Head of Critical care Dr Vijay Mishra said the Minister's condition has continued to remain the same since his arrival in the hospital.
The doctor said Jaggarnath Mahto has been administered plasma twice.
The minster was given plasma therapy in RIMS for the first time and the second time after he was shifted to Medica, but his health has not improved.
He said that the minister was being given 100 per cent high flow oxygen.
The senior doctor, however, exuded confidence that in a day or two Mahto's condition will improve.
Alongside Coronavirus, Mahto is also being treated for pneumonia, the doctor said, adding that a CT scan will be done after he comes out of oxygen support, to find if the infection has reached his chest.
On September 28, the Education Minister had tested positive for Coronavirus.
He was brought from his home in Bokaro district to Ranchi and was admitted to RIMS, after he complained of breathing difficulties.
After a couple of days, Jaggarnath Mahto was shifted to Medica Hospital when he showed no improvement.
