Cam Newton has spoken.

Shortly after Sunday’s 1 p.m. slate of NFL games kicked off, the New England Patriots starting quarterback posted to Instagram in his first public statement since news of his positive COVID-19 test came out Sunday.

“I never will question God’s reasoning, just will always respond with ‘Yes Lord!’” Newton wrote, in his usual social media hieroglyphics.

Newton’s looking off-camera in the black and white photo, with his face-mask pulled down over his chin, which could be an explanation why he’s in this predicament in the first place.

“I appreciate all the love, support and well wishes!” Newton writes. “I will take this time to get healthy and self-reflect on the other amazing things that I should be grateful for!”

Newton will obviously not play Monday against the Kansas City Chiefs and his availability for next Sunday’s home game against Denver is also in doubt.
